Welcome and Warning!

Welcome to GPS-Everything - the only place where you can buy GPS navigation and tracking solutions based on our legendary digital maps of the Gulf Countries and Egypt.

Unfortunately, we have to start with a word about the legal situation.

As an international company specialising in GPS technology, we feel that it is our duty to explain local laws regarding the purchasing of any of our products that appear on our website.

Egypt is one of only three countries in the world, (the others are North Korea and Syria), that do not allow the possession of GPS devices without government permission. In Egypt the regulatory body is the NTRA, Egypt's National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority. NTRA cannot grant such permission without approval from the military authorities. The military authorities, so far, are reluctant to do so.

While there is nothing in Egypt’s telecommunication laws that prohibits the acquisition of GPS equipment, nor is there any explicit mention of any licence requirements, it is the accepted view that the acquisition of any GPS devices in Egypt requires a licence from the NTRA.

The prohibition on GPS hardware is not applicable to GPS software. It is perfectly legal to purchase, sell, exchange or download any GPS software.

So, if you intend to purchase any GPS device from this site, please ensure that you have, or will obtain, the relevant licence from the appropriate authority.

It is your duty to ensure that all your actions, including any purchases from this site, will comply with local laws. We cannot be held responsible in any way for any consequences that result from non-compliance with the law.

While it is illegal to purchase any GPS device without a licence inside Egypt, it is perfectly legal for tourists to bring to Egypt any GPS device that they have bought outside Egypt. These are deemed to be personal articles that are not subject to Egypt’s communication law and therefore they do not require a licence!
