GPGSV... is "bad data" because the receiver has not locked into the satellites.
Whereas:
GPGSA... is "good data" indicating that the receiver has locked into the satellites. Remember - "A-Okay"
4. Once the data is flowing, go outside away from buildings, select the Satellites tab (Tools>GPS Status>Satellites), and watch the satellite signal strength improve until your position is locked in.
Why is my Navigation screen blank?
Be sure to download the appropriate SuperNAV GPS data packages to the computer. The SuperNAV GPS program will automatically display your position if the correct geographic area is loaded.
Why can't I see any maps even after I zoom and scroll?
If you are looking for a place in the U.S.A. use the Find command (Tools Menu) to type the name of the place and the state. Options will appear in the resulting dialog box. By selecting one of the places listed, the program will automatically centre it's position at that place.
If you are looking for a place outside of the U.S.A. select "File->Manage Maps" to see which maps you have loaded. Be sure to load SuperNAV GPS maps (these are files with .ttm as the extension) for the correct area. You can then zoom to the right location.
Alternatively, take the GPS system and PDA outside. Once your position is fixed it will show your position on the map.
My position appears to be offset, what's wrong?
If a different grid system other than our default WGS84 is used, the position may appear to be offset. You may encounter such problems when traveling in Hawaii or importing a specialized map which has a different datum. To fix this problem,
1. Go to View/Show Preference/Display
2. Check "Use Defined Datum". Enter desired number of meters (positive or negative) where X=East(minus)/West(plus) direction, and Y=North(plus)/South(minus) direction.
I purchased your software. When I lock in and look at my position on the map, it turns out that my position on the map is shifted by a significant distance to the south-east from my actual position. What is wrong?
Please use the defined datum to correct your position. Go to View->Preference... and in the Display tab change dx to -1166, change dy to 3988, and check "Use Defined Datum". This should eliminate the problem and your position after that should be properly displayed on the map. In Version 092003 and higher no need for correction.
How can I lock the GPS in faster the first time it's in use?
1. Be sure the PDA date and time is accurate to within one hour of local time.

Routing appears to be taking a long time. What's wrong?
For fastest routing, make sure the route settings are set to Quickest Path. This will ensure that the generated route will stay on the highway when possible. To get to the Route Settings screen, select Route->Route Settings.
Also, make sure that the Routing Area Size is set large enough. You can get access to this option through the same window as before. On the PC, this option can be set as large as possible. On the PDA, if this is set to high, you will get the"Unable to find right route" error message. If you get this error message, reduce the Routing Area Size and try the route again.
How can I get the GPS to lock in faster?
Set the computer's date, time and location properly. Use the "Initialization" feature. Attach an external antenna and keep the antenna horizontal with respect to the ground.

Using SuperNAV to route a familiar route, such as from your home to your office, you will find that manually adding waypoint(s) to the route will allow you to customize the resulting route to your preference. A waypoint is a user defined point that forces the program to create a route through this point.
To create a waypoint, simply zoom in a little, so you can see local streets. For PC right-click on the place where you want your waypoint to be, select “Add Waypoint”. For Pocket PC click on the place where you want your waypoint to be, select “Add To Waypoints”. Exit the SuperNAV GPS application, remove the storage card, unlock the card, replace the card, and restart the SuperNAV GPS application. You will need to re-load previously loaded maps and reset preferences initially.

I have noticed that Microsoft Terra Server Maps do not take into account the curvature of the Earth. Is there any way I can correct this?
The Terra server topographic and aerial maps do not take into account the curvature of the earth and therefore may appear distorted or unable to align perfectly among themselves. This is most notable when using multiple contiguous Terra Server maps in the SuperNAV GPS application. By contrast, the SuperNAV application does take into account the curvature of the earth so the application is more precise than the Terra Server maps can display by default. By contrast, using the SuperNAV GPS Geocoder program (Product #3059) will allow you to code and import Terra Server maps, as well as any other digital map you wish to use with the SuperNAV GPS application to effectively eliminate distortion.
